Calculation Sheets
Introduction The manual calculation of the service lifespan, static reliability and displacement under a combined load is extremely complex and can only be carried out for simple applications. Therefore, SCHNEEBERGER undertakes this task with a computer-assisted calculation program.
Objective and Purpose of the Calculation Program The computer-assisted calculation program for the design of MONORAILs determines: - the required MONORAIL size
- the optimum preload
- the static reliability factor
- the nominal service lifespan
- the elastic displacements of the working point under the effect of a load for a given MONORAIL system.
Taken into account in these calculations are the real, non-linear rigidities of the MONORAIL carriages and the interaction of the individual carriages generated by the differing rigidities under tensile, compressive and lateral loads. Additional deformations as a result of thermal expansion and elastic deformation of the machine construction are not taken into consideration. Required Data for the calculations
All the information from the machine drawings with data sheet (calculation sheets) is necessary. This information is as follows: - Guideway geometries with the number of carriages and rails, carriage spacings longitudinally and laterally
- Position of the axes in space and distances between them (distances between the reference points of neighboring axes)
- Masses of all machine axes and workpieces to be calculated
- Location of the mass centers of gravity
- Location of the drive elements versus the corresponding axis reference point
- Location of the load point (point of attack of force and moment)
- Maximum travel distances (stroke) of the axes to be calculated
- Maximum speed and acceleration of the axes
Additionally, in the event of several load cases, the following information is required: - Collective load with speed, acceleration, travel distance and percentage proportion of time as well as magnitude and direction of the forces and moments applied at the point of function of the corresponding load case.
All geometrical dimensions refer to the corresponding axis centre (refer to drawings). The designation of the axes in the cartesian coordinates’ system can be selected as required. Calculation sheets
For a considerable number of typical machine designs, SCHNEEBERGER provides machine drawings and data sheets from which you can select (see list below) to use for your calculation request. Please also use the following covering letter for your inquiry when you send in these data sheets: Letter of inquiry for MONORAIL calculation (20 KB PDF english) Letter of inquiry for MONORAIL calculation (21 KB PDF deutsch)
