The product AMSABS 3B for roller guideways now combines proven magneto-resistive measuring technology with an absolute digital interface.
With the proven advantages of AMS products like

We have added the following additional features to simplify the operation of distance measuring systems in industrial environments.

- Increased operational reliability attained by processing valid information
New Interfaces
The AMSABS features an absolute interface for connection to SSI, SSI+SinCos and all Fanuc controllers. The Siemens DRIVE CLiQ®* and Mitsubishi interface have recently been added. The Siemens DRIVE CliQ interface is certified in accordance with SIL 1.

The MONORAIL AMS 3B, for example, is an integrated magneto-resistive distance measuring system based on the MONORAIL MR roller profile guideway. This ensures compact axes with distance measurement and guidance that is especially suitable for use in machine tool applications. No additional assembly or adjustment of the measuring system is required by the operator; In fact, it delivers cost savings in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of the equipment. And, by using the AMS 3B, accuracy and process reliability are improved
The integrated AMS distance measuring system from SCHNEEBERGER can be perfectly integrated into MONORAIL guideways – both roller guideways and ball guideways – and ensures exact travel distances with tolerances of ±5 µm/m.

With the MONORAIL AMSABS 3B, SCHNEEBERGER provides an integrated measuring system for absolute distance measurement for use in automation engineering, mechanical handling technology and machine tool engineering, whereby high force absorption and precise distance measurements are required in small assembly spaces. From a mechanical point of view, the AMSABS 3B is based on the MONORAIL MR roller guide up to a length of 6m. The distance measurement system’s compact housing facilitates the construction of highly compact axes. SCHNEEBERGER provides an absolute interface with various cable lengths to connect it with the SSI, SSI+SinCos, FANUC, Mitsubishi and Siemens Drive CliQ® controllers
