The N/O linear guideway with needle bearings is designed for use with needle cages. These frictionless guideways are suitable for high load applications. Combined with tightly fitted needle bearings, this guideway exhibits the highest rigidity overall by comparison. The SCHNEEBERGER composite cage is made of plastic and steel and, compared to similar needle guideways, provides smaller displacement resistance values.
The linear guideway Type N/O by SCHNEEBERGER is a highly precise and robust solution for demanding applications where high load capacity and stiffness are required. This guideway was specifically designed for the use of needle cages and, in combination with closely packed needle bearings, offers maximum stability and low displacement resistance. This makes it particularly suitable for machines and systems that need to function reliably under intense load conditions.

Materials and Workmanship
The Type N/O linear guideways are characterized by excellent material quality, ensuring their durability and reliability:
- Rail: The rails are made from through-hardened tool steel 1.2842 with a hardness of 58 to 62 HRC. For applications requiring corrosion resistance, materials 1.4034 and 1.4112 are used.
- Rolling Elements: The needles, which serve as rolling elements, are made from through-hardened bearing steel and reach a hardness of 58 to 64 HRC, extending their service life even under high loads.
- Surface Finish: The support and contact surfaces, as well as the raceways, are finely ground, ensuring optimal guidance and minimal wear.
